Dr. Ashley Ford is a dual board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Sports Medicine. She specializes in the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions, with advanced expertise in ultrasound-guided procedures, electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCS), spine care, concussion management, and sports-related injuries.
Raised in Idaho Falls, Dr. Ford graduated from Bonneville High School, where she was active on the dance team and competed in dance for many years. She attended Idaho State University as part of the Honors Program, earning her Bachelor of Science in Zoology. Her exposure to various areas of medicine during her undergraduate studies strengthened her passion for understanding the human body and ultimately inspired her to pursue medical school.
At Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Ford discovered her interest in PM&R through the guidance of several influential mentors. She was selected as one of only four students in her class for a competitive pre-doctoral teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manual Medicine—an additional academic year dedicated to teaching first- and second-year medical students and expanding her advanced hands-on skill set.
She completed her PM&R residency at UT Health San Antonio, where she served as chief resident, followed by fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the Texas Institute of Graduate Medical Education and Research (TIGMER). During fellowship, she spent countless hours on the sidelines as a team physician, caring for athletes in sports ranging from football and basketball to rodeo and ballet, providing both acute injury care and ongoing performance-focused management.
After fellowship, Dr. Ford spent several years in San Antonio with a strong focus on concussion care. She served as the Assistant Director of a concussion treatment center, where she led clinical care and developed specialized protocols for athletes and non-athletes recovering from mild traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Ford is excited to return home to Eastern Idaho and is dedicated to serving her community. She is committed to helping patients restore function, improve performance, and return to the activities that matter most—whether recovering from injury, managing chronic conditions, or optimizing athletic potential.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, dancing, and exploring all that Idaho has to offer.
